August Prayers
August 1
Lord God make us guardians of our walk with You. That we would be on guard to keep on the righteous path You have laid out for us. That we would keep watch and be diligent in taking care to not let sin rule over us. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray.
August 2
Father give us wisdom and understanding when we study Your word. Help us to apply it to our lives. May they always be in the forefront of our minds. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 3
Lord there are those who yearn to have children and for one reason or another they cannot. Have mercy Lord. Oh make Your face shine upon them. Bless them with a child and heal their hearts. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 4
Thank You Lord for the love letter You left us. For it is like anointing oil poured over us everytime we read the beautiful words that are in what we call the Bible. For they revive us, renew us, give us life. Your words reminds us of Your love. Thank You. Amen
August 5
Lord, our God, bring peace in our homes. Some of us have rebellious children that can cause chaos within our walls. Give us wisdom and words when we deal with them. Give us love for them. We pray for them to be set free and be at peace. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 6
Help us Lord we pray. Help us to see the things that are not beneficial in our lives. We can so easily twist Your words that say, “All things are permissible”. We tend to forget the last part, “But not all are beneficial“. May we see things the way they truly are. Things that can stump our spiritual growth. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 7
Help us to be more like Jesus. Mold us Lord, with the fruits of the Spirit. May His light shine through us. To be pleasing in Your sight. Amen
August 8
Lord there are times of such pain and loss. We thank You that in these times You show Yourself by comforting us and giving us peace. You wrap Your arms around us in Your word. Amen and amen.
August 9
O Lord, help us to fulfill our purpose that You have given us. To live righteous, holy lives before You and those around us. To be the godly example that would not make anyone stumble. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 10
Father forgive us when we don’t own up to our sins. When we make up excuses and even lies to cover them up before You, our friends and families. Let us sense the brokenness and sting of sin, to be convicted and sorrowful of our sins. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 11
Lord we pray for our Pastors, Leaders and Elders. We ask that You fill them with wisdom and faith to battle the enemy. We ask that You bless them and keep them.
August 12
Lord God Almighty, we lay everything that we have at the altar. We surrender our selves, our children, our relationships, our work, our finances, and our health to You. For we trust You with all that we have and all that we are. For You are a good good Father who takes care of us. Thank You.
August 13
Thank You Lord, for the friends and family You have surrounded us with. The ones that encourage our faith and pray for us. Thank You for the beautiful relationships You have created for us. Amen
August 14
Oh Father, restore our lives. With Your hands shape our hearts and correct our steps and lead us into a true relationship with You. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
August 15
Father give us eyes to see the areas in our lives that we have not fully committed to You. Help us to give everything we are to You. That we would be fully, totally and absolutely committed in our relationship with You. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 16
Lord God give us compassion for those in need. May we never just walk by when You have blessed us abundantly. You are the great provider. Use us Lord, use us to be the giving hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.
August 17
Lord our Father, may we sense Your “I love you”, the moment we wake up. The moments throughout our days when we feel the wind blowing, the rain falling. In the smile of our children. In the midst of trials and joys. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
August 18
Lord forgive us when we question You with the "why’s". When we see those who are not serving You, healthy, and we are sick. Or they are prospering and some of us are living paycheck to paycheck. Remind us Lord that we have the greater. That there is a purpose and a plan set before us by You. Equip us with faith, patience and understanding as to the, "why’s". Amen and amen.
August 19
Father, help us to train our minds to be on You. Give us the empowerment to take our thoughts captive and turn them away from foolish things. For when our minds are on You, there is where we will find our hope and peace. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 20
Glorious Lord, we thank You for You are approachable. You receive us as we are, and Your door is always open. Your arms are always outstretched and welcome us with such love, grace and mercy that words can not express. Thank You our Abba.
August 21
Lord God, allow us to feel Your presence today. For today may come with unexpected struggles and fears. Oh, Lord how we need You, how we need to be confident and reassured that You are near to each one of us. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 22
Lord, when You have placed a new believer in our lives, give us wisdom, compassion and love for them. Oh that we would not be hard and judgmental. May we come alongside them in truth and gentleness and with Your loving words. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 23
Father, help us to face each day with holy purposes. That we would not waste our time with fleshly desires but to be wholeheartedly devoted to Your desires You have for us each day. Amen
August 24
Free our thoughts Lord of negativity, guilt and shame. Fill our minds with the knowledge of Your forgiveness, acceptance and love. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray.
August 25
Lord give us an awareness to the Holy Spirit’s whispers. When we hear His prompting to leave the place where we may be at, or to stop what we are doing or to walk away from a relationship we should not be in. To be obedient to His instructions. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
August 26
Lord thank You for those You’ve given us, who we could trust with godly counsel, accountability and sweet fellowship. Those who pray for us when we don’t even know. Amen
August 27
Forgive us Lord when we lose sight of what we truly need, than what we want. We can get caught up in our wants and when they do not come we can become disappointed and ask the “Why Lord”. Oh Lord You give us all that we need and more. Our cups overflow with Your favor and blessings. For we have the abundance of riches in Jesus. Oh that we would be content in these. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
August 28
Father, Your word says that no one can tame the tongue. How true this is. Lord we pray for Your empowerment to keep us from speaking words that easily flow from our lips. Words that can be harsh and hurtful. Or words of lies and gossip that can slip out so quickly. Forgive us Father when we fall in this sin. Only You can heal us from this sin. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
August 29
Lord our God, who goes before us in times of battle. Please keep our military, protect them Lord for they have chosen to protect our nation. We pray for their families that have made the sacrifices of letting go of their loved ones so they can serve. In the name of Jesus we pray.
August 30
Father we come before You with our heads bowed and our hearts broken to confess the sins we have done. It is against You Lord that our sins fall. It is on You that our sins are put on. Oh Lord we confess them and ask for Your forgiveness. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
August 31
Father, some of us are tired and we have no idea what to do. We need Your wisdom and strength to keep going as some days seem so long when we are going through a trial. Help us Lord, take hold of our hands and lead us and guide us and never let us go. Carry us Lord at times the load seems so heavy that is set before us. Only You Lord, only You know. Thank You.
